#4 Advertisement No.3 :Pharmaceuticals

The advertisement is belongs to Institutional Advertising & Social Advertising.


2.     The four roles of advertising. Which are relevant for this ad?
Communication Role & Societal Role appear in this advertisement.


3.     What does the ad want the audience to do or not do?
The advertisement actually wanted the audience to actually do small things with great love to comfort and to care about the society as one community. 



4.     Who is the target audience?
The target audience for this advertisement mainly would be the citizens in China.
5.     What are the target audience’s needs, concerns and interests?
The target audience are actually interested about the content and the message of the advertisement. It is because this advertisement actually released as part of J&J's 2008 Beijing Olympic Campaign.
6.     What is the message?
The advertisement itself is demonstrating Johnson & Johnson's slogan, "Because we care, we act."



7.     Discuss the message being conveyed.
this commercial features doctors, teachers and coaches as giants among humanity who do small things with great love to comfort and to care.



8.     Who does the message appeal to?
The message appeal to the community, the society of China. 

9.     What is the desired communication outcome
The company would like the society to know about their Company are actually one of the giant company are using loving care to help people care for the others.

10. What other communication channel is most effective?
For this advertisement, I personally think that outdoor advertising (print media) would be the most effective way to show this advertisement. 

11. Identify the ad and specific product being advertised and describe the ad.
There are actually no product being advertise but the company are promoting about their company image.

12. What does the ad show, people, products, scenery, etc?
The ad shows the people in China, the normal daily routine of a China's citizen.

13. What is not discussed about the product.?
Basically nothing was discussed about the product, and the product did not appear in the advertisement.

14. What image is portrayed?
The company actually portrayed a very caring and loving image to the society.

15. Is it true to life or puffery?
It depends on the society or different perspectives view. For me, I think it is true life.

16. Is the ad a slice-of-life, fear,humor,sex,or other type of ad?
The ad is a slice-of-life

17. Who is in the ad, if a star, what Image does he or she potray?
In the advertisement, the company uses the child singing in the advertisement. The child are actually the future leader for the country. If the child has a very caring and loving personality, everyone will be benefited.

18. What is the mood of the ad, colors used, music played?
The mood of the ad is very calm, very persuasive, colours used are good. The music played is sang by kids, so it brings out a very caring and loving feeling.

19.  Is the ad memorable?
Yes. The advertisement for me is quite memorable.

20.  Would you buy the product being advertised, why or why not?
I will buy the product even though the product wasn't being advertised in the advertisement, this is because the company actually taking care of the society especially when they're in this industry.

From my point of view, I personally do like about the advertisement. The flow of the advertisement is clearly cut and smooth. The advertisement uses medical care, uses doctor, teacher to portray a very caring image to reflect the image of the company. The company implement an indirect approach to the advertisement.

#3 Advertisement No.2 : Oil & Gases

The advertisement is belongs to Institutional Advertising.

The four roles of advertising. Which are relevant for this ad?
The marketing roles of this advertisement is Marketing role. The advertisement plays a role in marketing the company and the image of the company.
   
What does the ad want the audience to do or not do? The ad wants the audience to love their parents more, take in action to show the love to your parents. 

Who is the target audience?The target audience for this advertisement mainly would be TV viewers, the children who have their parents at the old folks house. In a way, to the public audience especially Malaysians. 

What are the target audience’s needs, concerns and interests?The target audience are actually concerning about whether the advertisement or they called it a short video do really make them felt touch. then they start to act the same as the video as played. 

What is the message?
The message is to remind the children don't forget about your parents. It is Chinese New Year, you must appreciate what your parents did for you when you're young. 

Discuss the message being conveyed.
     The message that they wanted to convey was no matter what you have done when you grew up. The most important thing in the family was just spending precious time no matter how busy you are.  

Who does the message appeal to?
The message appeal to the society, to the children that actually doesn't really spend much time with the family.

What is the desired communication outcome
The company would like to wish the society of the festival advertisement and also make the society felt that the company is not advertising their product nor service but yet telling the society that they're concerning about the society. Besides that, the desired communication outcome would be giving a good impression of the company, portraying a good caring image for the society.

What other communication channel is most effective?
For this advertisement, the advertisement uses Broadcasting TV could be the most effective way to reach the targeted audience.

The advertisement is not promoting any specific product, but just portraying an important image for the company

The ad shows Malaysia culture, the Chinese society and the people in the old folks house.

The quality of the product or even the image of the product.

A company does not really only care about profit but for the society.

It depends on the society or different perspectives view. In my opinion, It is true life.

The ad is a slice-of-life

In the advertisement, the advertisement uses normal citizen aunty gather at the front yard represent the Malaysia society.

The mood of the ad is very warm, very persuasive, colours used are good. Music played is nice and very  comfort.

Is the ad memorable?
Yes. The ad is quite memorable.

Would you buy the product being advertised, why or why not?
The advertisement wasn't promoting their product, but just creating their image and identity of the company.

First of all, I think the advertisement is nice, warm. If he who went through the pain is the only one who knows how it really feels. If I were to put my parents at the old folks home, I would feel bad when not celebrating with my parents during chinese new year. The advertisement will make some effect of the ones who working away from home, will remind them to spend time with the parents.

#2 Advertisement No.1 : Telecommunication

The advertisement is belongs to Institutional Advertising.

2. The four roles of advertising. Which are relevant for this ad?
The marketing roles of this advertisement is Marketing role. The advertisement plays a role in marketing the company and the image of the company.

3.What does the ad want the audience to do or not do?
The advertisement basically wants to inform the audience that the festival of Hari Raya is coming, for those who are studying or working far away from home, reminding them to be back to the hometown as earlier as possible to celebrate with the family.

4.Who is the target audience?
The target audience for this advertisement mainly would be those people who are working or studying far away from home. Besides that, the audience may be those who are celebrating Hari Raya. On another hand, the advertisement is trying to sustain government's campaign : 1 Malaysia.

5.What are the target audience’s needs, concerns and interests?
The target audience are actually concerning about whether the advertisement or they called it a short video do really make them felt the same as them. The audience in this society are actually looking for the 
same common things or they've experienced it. :)

6.What is the message?
The message is to wish the society Selamat Hari Raya.

7.Discuss the message being conveyed.
The message uses the grocery store worker as the main character  which is equivalent to those who are working far away from home, let them to be home earlier to celebrate with the family.

The message appeal to the society, the people that are travelling far away from home. 

9.What is the desired communication outcome?
The company would like to wish the society of the festival advertisement and also make the society felt that the company is not advertising their product nor service but yet telling the society that they're concerning about the society and supporting the government's campaign. 

10.What other communication channel is most effective?
For this advertisement, the advertisement uses Broadcasting TV to advertise their movie. In a way, the advertisers can use Billboards on the highway would be more effective, it is because when the workers are on their way back to hometown, they would probably see the advertisement on the road.

The advertisement doesn't have any specific product that they are actually promoting or being advertised. The advertisement uses an indirect way to improve the company's image and branding for the company.

The ad shows culture, people in the society and the 1 Malaysia scene.

The company doesn't discuss about the product it is because the company is promoting the service to the customers but yet the advertisement is not promoting for service neither.

The advertisement portrayed an image that the company not only cares for the customer's needs and wants but letting the customer felt that the company actually cares for the family too. :)

First of all, I would like to say this advertisement actually brings out a homecoming feeling. If I were one of the worker that are actually working far away from home, I would feel that I must take an action to go home and celebrate with my family. On the other hand, the company uses different races and occupation to represent the diversity of our society. I personally liked the advertisement very much. For me, if there is a festival coming, my mood will feel good and will be looking forward for another festival's advertisement. :)
